Study on clinical profile, scoring systems and outcomes of obstetric patients in our intensive care unit

Background: Obstetric patients in ICU, pose a clinical challenge to intensivists and obstetricians. The objective of our study was evaluate the incidence, indications interventions these patients. Secondly assess whether scores can help estimate severity condition, predict mortality morbidity patients.Methods: It retrospective observational including all antepartum postpartum admitted ICU between January 2018 June 2020.Results: Majority needing care were period (82.8%). Multigravida (55.2%) unbooked cases (60.4%) constituted major proportion Hypertensive disorders pregnancy followed by sepsis amounted for common etiologies. Transfusions (43.2%), ventilatory support (26%) inotropic (14.9%) required majority number Maternal rate 2.23%. Out scores, OEWS (Obstetric early warning score) better modality disease need care.Conclusions: A multidisciplinary approach close coordinated obstetric reduce maternal rate. Early identification critically ill using us triaging high dependency units/ICU. is very simple score which helps identifying intensive care.
